Devin Haney will defend his undisputed lightweight championship against Vasiliy Lomachenko on Saturday, May 20. They will be headlining a Top Rank pay-per-view on ESPN+. Haney (29-0, 15 KO) and Lomachenko (17-2, 11 KO) have some history, and it’s stuff that makes this fight a little spicier than it just being the two best fighters currently operating at 135 lbs.
Popular hard-hitting super lightweight contender Rolando “Rolly†Romero 14-1-0 (12 KO's) takes on veteran Southpaw Ismael Barroso 24-3- 2 (22 KO`s) for the Interim title inside The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas. Romero is an exciting, fan-favorite fighter known for his brash talk that he backs up with power in both hands. Barroso is the mandatory challenger to the WBA 140-pound crown. Romero made his pro debut in 2016. He won the interim WBA lightweight title in August 2020 against Jackson Marinez. "Rolly" last fought in May 2022, losing to Gervonta Davis via TKO for the WBA (Regular) lightweight title. Barroso fought to a draw in his first pro bout. He won the interim WBA lightweight title in 2015 against Kevin Mitchell but lost to champion Anthony Crolla in 2016. Since that fight, he is 5-2 in his past seven bouts and on a four-fight win streak. The fight will be live on Showtime.
‘’Qazaq Style’’ Alimkhanuly will meet Steven ‘’BANG BAN’’ Butler for WBO title in a 12-round middleweight bout in Stockton Arena, Stockton, California, US. Both the fighters are of the same height. Despite being of the same height, Butler has a nice longer reach of 190 cm, which is 8 cms longer than Alimkhanuly's 182 cm. Butler also has a 8 cm ape index advantage over Alimkhanuly. Alimkhanuly is coming in to this fight with an undefeated record of 13-0 (8 KOs). Butler comes in with a record of 32-3-1 (26 KOs).
Canelo (58-2-2 39 KOs) returns to his hometown of Guadalajara to face John Ryder (32-5 18 KOs) in a bout that will see the popular Mexican fighter defend his undisputed super-middleweight title. Saul "Canelo" Alvarez, for the first time in 11 years, will fight on home soil. Ryder fought twice in 2022 and earned arguably the two biggest victories of his career, winning a split decision over former middleweight champion Danny Jacobs before stopping previously unbeaten Zach Parker last November.
