Bivol-Beterbiev Postponed

The much awaited clash between Artur Beterbiev and Dmitry Bivol has been put on hold.

This has resulted from an injury sustained by Beterbiev during training for the bout originally scheduled for June 1 in Riyadh.

The unfortunate development was announced initially by Turki Abdulmuhsen Alalshikh and later confirmed through a press release by Top Rank on Friday.

Per the release, Beterbiev had a ruptured meniscus in training and Alalshikh wished him a speedy recovery in a post while also adding that the 5v5 event would still go ahead as planned on June 1.

Bivol holds the WBA and IBO titles at Light Heavyweight whiles Beterbiev has the WBC, WBO and IBF versions.

The pair put it all on the line in an exciting match up of varying styles: explosive power and efficient boxing skills.

Information on plans for a new date for the bout and other details would follow soon.

This is one fight boxing fans have long yearned for and can't wait to see it happen.
