Saul “Canelo” Alvarez will return to the ring on October 31 when he faces Christian Mbilli for the WBC super middleweight championship in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The fight will headline the “Mexico vs The World” event as part of Riyadh Season, with DAZN set to broadcast the highly anticipated championship clash. 
For Canelo, the bout represents an opportunity to reclaim the WBC title at 168 pounds. The Mexican star previously held the undisputed super middleweight championship before losing to Terence Crawford in September 2025.
Mbilli enters the fight as the undefeated WBC super middleweight champion. He was elevated from interim champion to full champion and will now make his first defense of the WBC title against one of the most experienced names in the division.

The fight was originally scheduled for September 12 but was postponed after personal matters delayed the start of Canelo’s training camp. The WBC subsequently confirmed October 31 as the new date.
