Chavez Jr Eyes Jake Paul After Beating Uriah Hall

Julio Cesar Chavez Jr won his comeback fight,  beating former UFC star from Jamaica Uriah Hall over six rounds.

The bout took place on the Jake Paul vs Mike Perry undercard at the Amalie Arena, Tampa, Florida.

Two judges scored the fight 59-55, with a third judge having it 58- 56, all for Chavez whose record improves to (54-6-1, 34 KO).

While some disagree with the wide margins on the two identical score cards, there's really not much to argue about since it just wasn’t a very good fight ; though there were some boos when the verdicts were declared.

Chavez Jr, 38, last fought on December 18, 2021 against David Zegarra.

Chavez who came in at 186 lbs ( Light-heavyweight) for the Zegarra bout in 2021 is now competing as a cruiserweight, which is about 40 lbs over his prime years fighting weight.

In September 2012, Chavez Jr challenged for the WBC World Middleweight title against Sergio Martinez, losing by unanimous decision.

After the win, Chavez Jr  expressed interest in fighting Jake Paul who posted a sixth round knockout victory over Mike Perry on the same card.

The Jake Paul vs Julio Cesar Chavez Jr matchup could aptly be dubbed " Battle Of The Misfits ", if it ever gets made.

The possibility of it happening became apparent after WBA President Gilberto Mendoza declared he was ready to stage Chavez Jr vs Jake Paul as a championship.

And boxing fans might be happier with that bout than a Jake Paul bout against an aged medically unfit legend in Mike Tyson.
