Devin Haney vs Ryan Garcia: KingRy Comes In Overweight

Brooklyn — Ryan Garcia missed weight ahead of his WBC Super Lightweight Championship challenge against Devin Haney. He came in at 143.2 lbs, 3.2 lbs above the official weight limit.

The fight, Garcia's first in 2024 is scheduled to take place at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn on Saturday. There were speculations prior to Fight Week about Ryan encountering much difficulty in hitting the 140 lbs limit.

Critics observed that the former "Tank " Davis foe appeared more like a full-fledged Welterweight.

"There was a contractual agreement to pay 500, 000 USD for every pound he's overweight", revealed an insider concerning Garcia, "And he's on course to honour that".

The fight indeed is set to happen as planned and should live up to its billing considering the bad blood and rivalry between the two fighters. The "box of blames" would be opened in the aftermath; but at this point, all focus is on fight night.
