United Kingdom — Frank Warren is looking forward to revamping his signee Moses Itauma's resume with eight solid fights this year. Sounds impossible? Well, that is the plan for the year.
The 18-year-old has a pro record of 2 wins all by way of knockout within the first round. In his first professional bout, Itauma demolished Marcel Bode within the first 23 seconds of the first round at the Wembley Arena. He pulled a second win with a KO in the Ramon Ibarra in 35 seconds after the first bell.
Speaking about his upcoming bout with Ukraine's Kostiantyn Dovbyshchenko (9-12-1, 6KOs), Frank Warren told BoxingScene.com that he intends to put Itauma in the ring 5 more times before the end of this year.
"He’s going to have eight fights this year. We are going to keep him busy busy busy and get his experience up. I think he’s capable of doing that. Obviously, I will look at each fight and make a decision whether to push him or not but I think he’s capable of that volume of fights this year."
Moses Itauma debuted on January 28 of this year after 22 wins as an amateur boxer from 2017 to 2022. As an amateur, Itauma fought eight times in 2019 and defeated all eight opponents — but all that was against other amateur boxers. Well, Frank Warren believes the best way to get Itauma more experience is to keep him busy on the job.
"It is not the plan to make him the main event, he will just stay busy, keep fighting, keep knocking people out. The busier he is, the more he is in the gym training for fights and living the life and learning."
