Gervonta Davis Arrested Two Weeks After Warrant Issued

TMZ and USA Today report that Miami police took Gervonta “Tank” Davis into custody today, two weeks after putting out a warrant for his arrest.

Davis (30-0-1, 28 KO) faces charges of false imprisonment, battery, and attempted kidnapping following an alleged assault on ex-partner Courtney Rossel, who also filed a civil suit in October.

That incident led to the cancellation of Davis’ planned exhibition against Jake Paul, while the warrant led to the WBA downgrading Davis from lightweight champion to “champion in recess.”

Davis has fought just once in the last 19 months, a hugely controversial draw with Lamont Roach Jr in March that saw Davis take a knee before blatantly breaking the rules to get his corner to wipe grease out of his eyes. Talks of a rematch fizzled out .
