Gervonta Davis Sued For Battery And Kidnapping

Reports have it that Courtney Rossel, “ex-girlfriend” of WBA lightweight champion Gervonta “Tank” Davis, has filed a civil suit alleging “battery, aggravated battery, false imprisonment, kidnapping, and intentional infliction of emotional distress.”

Baller Alert claims to have read the complaint in its entirety, but shared only an image of the opening page. That said, the article does specifically name the lawyers representing Rossel and their respective firms. ESPN’s Andreas Hale also reached out to one of said lawyers and confirmed the existence of a police report related to the most recent incident.

The complaint presents a pattern of violence from Davis, claiming that “on multiple occasions, Davis allegedly choked her, threatened to kill her, and assaulted her both in private and in public settings.” It names a particularly gruesome event this past Monday, the 27th, wherein Davis allegedly “grabbed, choked, and dragged Rossel through a stairwell, the kitchen, and the back exit before beating her in the parking garage, striking her in the back of the head while she screamed for help.”

This is a civil complaint, not criminal, and unrelated to Davis’ previous indictment in Doral. Authorities ultimately dropped the charges after the alleged victim, the mother of two of Davis’ children, declined to proceed. Davis previously pleaded guilty to a hit-and-run in which he injured a pregnant woman and has twice faced charges for violence towards women.

Davis is currently slated to box Jake Paul on November 14th in a Netflix main event.
