Josh Warrington Defends Fighting Style Against Criticism

Warrington is known for his aggressive style and relentless pressure on his opponents, which has earned him the nickname of the "Leeds Warrior". He has a professional record of 30 wins, 7 knockouts, and only 2 losses. His first career loss came against Mauricio Lara in a stunning upset in February 2021.

Despite the setback, Warrington remains a popular figure in the boxing world and has a large following of fans who appreciate his fighting style. He is known for his toughness, resilience, and willingness to take on the best fighters in the world.

Warrington's style of fighting has been a problem for his opponents and some boxing fans. In his recent fights, Warrington left four out of eight opponents with facial damage from headbutting them during the fight. Yet, it doesn't seem like Warrington is at all bothered about the talks from his critics.

"I go forward. That’s my style. I go forward with my chin down, and then I go forward at a ferocious pace. When you’re coming in with styles where the opponent is stood upright, or they’re coming forward themselves, which Lara does and Lopez stands upright, there is a chance that that can happen," he told WBN.

"But I’ve never had a point taken off for using my head, if you want to call it that. It’s always been an accidental clash. But I go forward. I put pressure on them. So when my chin took down, unfortunately [it happens]. I’ve never been caught, should I say. But they’re quick to jump on intentional head boats, but it’s far from that [intentional]."

"It is a boxing match. Not a tickling contest. It is just fortunate that I’ve never been cut myself. But I’d say the last four or five fights that there’s been a few cuts in them, and the people are starting to make a big stink of it," he added.
