At 45, Luis Ortiz is not ruling out a scrap against young prospect Jared Anderson. Sometimes all it takes is one bad day at the office and prospective opponents would come knocking on your doors.
That could be the case as Anderson's win against Riyad Merhy has been considered by many to be unimpressive and boring. Perhaps it was Bob Arum issuing an open challenge that has woken the Cuban Southpaw, whose last fight was a first-round knockout of Francisco Cordero in January. Arum's post read,"We're looking for a Heavyweight who thinks he can actually beat Jared Anderson".
To this Ortiz replied, "If you're really looking to test Jared Anderson, give him to me".
Despite being 21 years older "King Kong" Ortiz is no slouch and could give Anderson (17-0) nicknamed "The Real Big Baby" lots of trouble if the fight gets made.
In both losses to Deontay Wilder, Ortiz wobbled the "Bronze Bomber" and was even on the verge of stopping him; especially in their first fight.
Should probably be the litmus test or baptism of fire for Jared.
