David Morrell Jr. has gone on social media to describe the fight between WBC interim super middleweight champion David Benavidez and Demetrius Andrade, as a "clown circus."
The fast-rising star feels he deserves a spot to face David Benavidez or Demetrius Andrade but was not mentioned for their November 25th bout.
Morrell (9-0, 8 KOs) called out Benavidez, but Benavidez and his dad refused to fight him, which some fans saw as a sign of fear. It's possible Morrell is less well-known than Andrade and Caleb Plant, so he's being overlooked, even though he could likely beat them. If Benavidez loses to Morrell, he might not get a shot at Canelo Alvarez.
Morrell has only fought once this year, where he secured a first-round knockout of Yamaguchi Falcao at the T-Mobile Arena to win the WBA World Super Middleweight title.
