After knocking out Dillian Whyte in devastating fashion and proceeding to call out Oleksandr Usyk, fast rising heavyweight prospect Moses Itauma officially has his next fight scheduled, and while he had originally aimed for a return before the end of the year, he’ll actually be back at the top of 2026 in a Jan. 24 meeting with Jermaine Franklin at Manchester’s Co-Op Live arena, as reported by ESPN.
The 20-year-old Itauma(13-0, 11 KOs) is most recently coming off a first round knockout of Dillian Whyte, which really only propelled his stock value as many now see him as the next big threat in the heavyweight division. Meanwhile Franklin (24-2, 15 KOs) has won three straight fights against lesser opposition since losing a wide unanimous decision to Anthony Joshua back in 2023.
“This show will also effectively celebrate my 45th year in the professional business and I believe this card certainly does justice to the occasion and I am very happy to have our heavyweight prodigy Moses topping the bill in another perfect test of his unquestionable credentials against a very tough American in Jermaine Franklin,” said promoter Frank Warren.
Also scheduled to feature on this Jan. 24 card will be a light heavyweight fight between Willy Hutchinson (19-2, 14 KOs) and Ezra Taylor (13-0, 9 KOs)
