The International Boxing Association (IBA) Women's World Boxing Championships kicked off with a beautiful opening ceremony in New Delhi that welcomed competitors and spectators alike.
The grand opening ceremony saw spectators cheer as flag bearers from the 65 participating nations waved their flags during the parade that preceded the show alongside the rich Indian tradition and culture on display for the audience's fascination.
The event, which will be held from March 15–26, 2023, will feature top boxers competing in 12 weight divisions and reward medal winners with a rich prize pool of US $2.4 million.
The host nation, India will be represented by the likes of Nikhat Zareen, gold medalist at the flyweight division at the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games, Nitu Ghanghas and Lovlina Borgohain.
The championship which is going to span from March 15 to March 26 will see fighters from Algeria, Brazil, Columbia and Italy - just to mention a few.
