Road To Paris: Ornella Wins, Tetteh Crashes Out

The road to the Paris Olympic Games is still on and Ghana's amateur boxing team, The Black Bombers, is in Thailand for the World Qualification Tournament at the Indoor Arena of Huamark Stadium, Bangkok.

In today's proceedings US based Ghanaian female boxer Ornella Sathoud defeated Monika Langerova from the Czech Republic by a split points decision to advance to the round of 16.

Sathoud, who is a physician by profession is two wins away from an Olympic qualification slot.

In the men's Heavyweight division however Jonathan Tetteh aka "World Wide" failed to advance further; crashing out in the round of 64 after succumbing to 2021 world champion Loren Berto.

At this point, Joseph Commey, Theophilus Allotey, Henry Malm and Ornella Sathoud are the four remaining boxers in whom the hopes of a nation reside.

The technical team is highly optimistic of the boxers' success.
