After the headbutting incident between John Fury and and a Team Usyk member ( Stanislav Stepchuk) which resulted in Big John wearing a scarlet mask, the shenanigans are far from over preceding the Fury vs Usyk epic clash.
At the final final press conference yesterday, Tyson Fury surprisingly refused to look Usyk in the face during the face off; probably part of his gimmicks and mind games- a craft at which Usyk himself is an adept.
Adding to that growing plot is a formal complaint issued by Oleksandr Usyk's representatives regarding the ring canvas, which is going to be used on fight night for the anticipated undisputed heavyweight title fight against Tyson Fury.
Usyk’s team is specifically concerned about the structure and stitching of the canvas, and was confirmed to Sky Sports News on the ground in Riyadh by a representative.
The making of the canvas is required to accommodate sponsorship placements upon the material, and is sown together in four parts. This leaves a seam approximately 1mm in depth once constructed.
Usyk believes the seam's width and depth could become a potential trip hazard during the heavyweight fight.
According to Sky Sports reporter Ben Ransom, at some point today, Usyk will inspect the canvas that will be used for the fight.
Pundits have been divided in their predictions for the outcome of the fight which is the first undisputed heavyweight bout in 25 years.
Tyson Fury is expected to drop weight whiles Usyk intends to bulk.
