Teofimo Lopez Uses Racial Slur On Black Fighters.

 Former unified lightweight champion Teofimo Lopez has pressed the racist button. 

  Lopez used the racial slur in reference to black boxers Geovanta Davis and Terrence Crawford

The 27-year-old boxer who was born to Honduran immigrants was heard in an interview using demeaning terms against boxers Gervonta " Tank " Davis and Terrence " Bud " Crawford. 

 " I wanna fight the best, …. let’s make the fight happen… *Whichever monkey wants to get the banana…" , Lopez naively blurted out. 

 Statements of this nature from athletes and public figures has attracted backlash and condemnation widely and this one wouldn't be different. 

 As distasteful as it sounds, Lopez should probably suffer some punitive sanctions as a deterrent. 

 The relevant authorities are yet to voice out on this blunder. 

Background:

 A week ago there was an altercation between Terence Crawford and Terence Lopez before the two were separated. 

 This resulted from Teofimo constantly calling out " Bud" and even going overboard with it at certain times. 

 Lopez ( 21-1, 13KOs) has similarly been chasing clout with the heavy handed Gervonta Davis. 

 But this latest happening is unfortunate and needless at this point.
