Usyk Reticent On Game Plan Against Fury
Oleksandr " The Cat " Usyk isn't ready to lay bare his tactics to be deployed against Tyson Fury.
Going into their undisputed encounter this weekend, the Ukrainian wouldn't divulge the slightest idea of what he carries into the ring on fight night against the 6ft9 Fury who has an obvious height and size advantage.
Speaking to a reporter during the arrivals, the undefeated former undisputed Cruiserweight champion admitted that there was definitely a strategy in place to befuddle the WBC champion and ultimately dissect him.
But in his usual casual and hilarious tone, Usyk shied away from discussing it.
On his part, the Gypsy King accorded Usyk all the respect," of course Klitschko ( Vladimir) was also an Olympic Gold medalist and heavyweight champion, but Usyk has been champion at a lower weight. So surely he's my my toughest opponent.
I respect his achievements as a boxer, but he's still a little rabbit and a dosser", Fury has to chip in.
Speaking of weights, Usyk is rumoured to be bulking up and building power, whilst Fury has favoured dropping weight; which as John Nelson put it, might work against him.
Adding to the intrigues and thickening the plot was an earlier incident when the two entourages clashed : John Fury father of Tyson Fury attempted to headbutt a young member of Usyk's team but rather ended up with a bloodied face.
The pair square up at the Kingdom Arena on May 18 in a bill envisioned by Turki Abdulmuhsen Alalshikh and promoted by Bob Arum and Frank Warren.
Will the good big man beat the good small man? Or does Usyk have something up his sleeves to debunk this boxing myth?
Let's meet up in Saudi!
