Deontay Wilder has now sustained three losses in forty-seven outings; two of those defeats were suffered at the hands of Tyson Fury and one by UD to Joseph Parker. Worthy to note, the " Bronze Bomber " took severe battering in all three losses, indeed posing questions regarding his future in the sport. The resolute man that he is, the former WBC Champion has always bounced right back- ever lyrical, ever frenetic.
This time, however, Wilder has a " Big Bang" theory to unravel as he takes on Chinese gladiator Zhilei Zhang( 20 - 2 - 1) on June 1. Acclaimed as the hardest-hitting Heavyweight in boxing history, Wilder has laid bare his intentions of knocking off Zhang's head in the undercard of Bivol-Beterbiev.
His majority decision loss to Parker notwithstanding, Zhang's back-to-back wins against Joe Joyce are a testament to his awkward style as a Southpaw and his punching power. Another loss for Wilder would prove catastrophic, but " Big Bang " Zhang is no mincemeat and might be an unfavorable dance partner for Wilder's return.
Wilder-Zhang should definitely be action-packed. They call Boxing " The Theatre of The Unknown ": but reality cannot be eluded come fight night.
